About Vasilii Dementev
I'm Vasilii Dementev, a founder-engineer based in Bangkok, Thailand since 2021. I started in marketing and sales in Moscow, built an e-commerce business, then moved into software engineering. I now run Lotus Web Agency, an e-commerce development and support company, and Hushscript, a private transcription product I designed and built.
Where am I based?
I live in Bangkok, Thailand, and have since 2021. I moved here alone for university, stayed, and built my family and my life here.
How did my career get here?
- 2008–2015, marketing, advertising and sales in Moscow. I worked across finance, electronics retail and gaming, built analytics and monetization systems, and ran budgets and teams, ending in a senior leadership role at a game studio.
- 2016–2021, entrepreneurship and the move into IT. I freelanced in IT, founded and ran an e-commerce business with most sales automated, and was head of web projects at a major real-estate developer (2018–2021).
- 2021–present, full-time engineering in Bangkok. I moved to Thailand to study software engineering at Prince of Songkla University, and founded Lotus Web Agency the same year.
What do I work on now?
I run Lotus Web Agency, an e-commerce development and support company with a distributed team across Asia. I founded it in 2021, and its client work and case studies are published on its own site.
I founded Hushscript and designed and built it: private, browser-based audio and video transcription, with a Chrome extension, SDKs, a CLI and a remote MCP server for developers.
